Richard B. Cheney, prominent public servant and businessman, is the vice-president. Cheney has been a prominent figure in Washington throughout his time. George W. Bush was the fourth president to which he was a part of. Bush chose Cheney as his running mate as Vice President in July 2000, citing the experience and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of a President, he was a member of Congress as well as also secretary of Defense. Republicans and Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney believes his role in the Bush Administration will be to be an open and discrete adviser. Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential nominating in 2007 stated that the he would be looking forward to serving under a president that is able to work across party lines and work with political rivals with goodwill and a common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th of January 1941, within Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, he emigrated together with family members to Casper in the western part of Wyoming, where his father was the director of the district for soil conservation in Casper in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
