Laura Linney's portrayal as vulnerable but strong characters has helped make her one of today's greatest American actors. While working as a summer intern with her father's business Laura Linney fell in love with the theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting and at Juilliard School, after which, her career took off. Within a mere two years following graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. In the following year, she made her first appearance in TV and film. Since then she has appeared in a variety of film, TV as well as stage productions. In her long professional career, she's received many awards, which includes two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Despite her numerous accolades, she is still a lover of theatre and has appeared on stage and screen.
